BİYAŞAM Training Series Dissolution Rate, Its Importance and Current Applications (Online) Training
"Dissolution Rate, Its Importance and Current Applications (Online) Training" was held by TÜSEB Türkiye Biotechnology Institute researcher Assist. Prof. Dr. İmren ESENTÜRK GÜZEL and invited academician speakers from Istanbul University Faculty of Pharmacy Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Prof. Dr. Yıldız ÖZSOY, Prof. Dr. Sevgi GÜNGÖR and Assist. Prof. Dr. Burcu MESUT for the employees of the Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency of the Ministry of Health within the scope of BİYASAM-Education Series on 30 November 2023.
The absorption of an orally administered drug from the gastrointestinal tract, and therefore its bioavailability, is controlled by the rate of dissolution in the fluids in the absorption site. In this training, information was given about current applications of dissolution rate, with emphasis on dissolution rate and its importance, factors affecting dissolution rate, dissolution rate methods registered in pharmacopoeias, determination of dissolution rate specifications, dissolution rate tests in modified release products and nano carrier systems, and validation of dissolution rate methods.
